Background

Spillages of diesel, degreasers and other vehicle fluids have to be collected in Oil/Water Interceptors (OWIs) as it is illegal to discharge hydrocarbons into the waste water network. As the OWI fills up and the toxicity increases, the customer was spending increasing amounts on vacuum tankers and treatment/disposal costs. The local water company started to monitor potential pollution levels and threatened the customer with fines if the OWIs were not emptied promptly by licenced contractors.

Waterless urinals are becoming more commonplace and these will accelerate the build-up of uric acid.

Solution

The ‘before’ picture shows that the OWI is 2m deep and approximately 50% full of hydrocarbon sludge, however the sludge was too thick for the gauge to reach the bottom of the OWI. Turbidity was zero as was DO. The waste water was ‘soupy’, sticky and odourous with a thick film of floating oils. The ‘after’ picture (4 weeks) shows that sludge levels are now approximately 10cm as, spillages are arriving 24/7. The waste water is almost clear, has no floating oils and is odourless.

Dosage is initially one Eco Tab per week per OWI and monitored. Once the backlog of hydrocarbons has been digested, the dosage only needs to cope with arriving pollution, dependent on flows/load. Typically, customers can reduce the dosage to one Eco Tab per month.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” thickness=”30″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”yes” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”” css=”.vc_custom_1546941150880{padding-top: 80px !important;padding-bottom: 80px !important;background: #f4f2ef url(https://eco-wmt.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/wave-pattern-row.png?id=16006) !important;}” el_class=”row-pattern”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Why are Eco Tabs better than my current products?

Chemicals, enzymatics, biocides, acids etc only liquidise and degrade sludge so that it can be washed downstream to recongeal elsewhere. Globally, scientists now understand in detail the environmental damage caused by these products and many are now banned in advanced countries. Eco Tabs are unique and 100% environmentally friendly and 100% safe for all human, animal, avian, aquatic and wildlife.

Eco Tabs are a blend of specific non-pathogenic bacteria chosen to do a certain job, ie digest (eat) certain pollutants. Once the bacteria have digested all of the pollutants, they die off and are washed away. The by-products of non-pathogenic bacteria are 95% water and 5% carbon dioxide.

Do Eco Tabs work out better value that my current products?

Compared to tankering away the hydrocarbon pollution for disposal, customers can expect to reduce their costs by approximately 40% dependent on flows, loads etc.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Are there any other benefits of using Eco Tabs?

Eco Tabs are the only product on the market to digest (eat) uric acid crystals naturally. Eco Tabs also have built-in oxygenation agents, which add much needed aeration to waste water. Continued use will not only inhibit rust, scale and corrosion, therefore extending asset life, the treatment also has zero impact on the environment.

Are there any negative side effects?

No. All Eco Tab products are 100% safe for the environment. PPE is not required.
